Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day. About the only reference to this day are from blogs on the Internet, poking fun at this important day. It is the butt of many jokes. You can also find Ecards (of course) to send celebrating this day

This is referred to as a "National" day. However, we did not find any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day. Could congress really have spent precious time to make this a national day?

March 7th celebrates National Crown Roast of Pork Day, an “unofficial” National holiday.  It would be the day to set a nice table and prepare a feast with a crown roast of pork.

National Crown Roast of Pork Day

To make a crown roast of pork, a pork loin is formed into a circle with the ribs pointing upwards forming the peaks of a crown.   Often they are held together with twine.  It is then seasoned  and often times stuffed, roasted and served, making a beautiful centerpiece on the table.  The ends of the bones may be given a paper-frill treatment for added decoration.

You certainly must be kidding, right!? National Crown Roast of Pork Day... Why you ask?

Well, frankly, we do not know. And, why not just Roast Pork Day? Why does it have to be a crown roast pork?

What we do know, is that it is National Crown Roast of Pork Day, a special day to cook and eat pork. To participate in this day it must be crown roast pork. Any other just will not do.

Have a great day!
